Injury Recovery

Pain Management

I’ve worked one-on-one with clients to address injury and pain management, as well as finding freedom and ease in movement, for 10+ years. I like to think of it as “functional movement.”

How is our yoga and physical practice helping us function with more freedom and ease?

For those of us who experience chronic pain and the exhaustion of upkeep

What’s the balance between what we live with, what we focus on, and what we let be?

I do not identify as disabled, but I have a decades long history with low-grade chronic back, sciatica, and hip joint pain.

My goal is to help my clients live with a greater sense of freedom in their bodies throughout their daily lives, NOT achievement of ideals, certain poses, or how something looks. I work against “best self” models, which have a gentle aggression towards the present self, and instead focus equally on goals, hopes, and acceptance.

In addition to yoga, my sessions include Physical Therapy techniques, Alexander Technique, Klein Technique, Ortho Bionomy, somatics, self-massage, and meditation. I often work with clients with referrals for Physical Therapy, but who choose to work with me for a more holistically-integrated injury recovery. I am not certified in these techniques, but they have been a huge part of my journey in working with injury and pain.

I will teach you the tools: basic anatomy, body awareness, and an individualized plan to help you reach your goals, recover from injury, or just feel more at ease.

I specialize in general back pain, low-back pain, sciatica, knee-related issues, SI joint related issues, neck pain, and issues related to computer use.
