restore with core

This is a great practice for those who are dealing with a back injury and looking for a subtle and gentle way to energize your core muscles in the morning!

ACTIVITY LEVEL:  low

All poses are done lying down.

PROPS: You may want a large pillow.

Prenatal/Postpartum: This practice is not intended for those who are pregnant. If you have had a baby within the last 6 months, please consider doing this video gently, working up to the exercises starting at 4:18 to avoid diastasis. Contact me for more info.

DONATIONS: I’m not paid for this work but I welcome donations at @Alicia-Ohs at Venmo. I also accept words of encouragement, emojis, likes, and acts of community care as contributions! And watching and spreading the word about these videos helps too!

A NOTE ON TRAUMA: I am not a ‘trauma-informed’ teacher. I am an anti-racist organizer and yoga teacher who is sharing my healing journey and who believes in making healing accessible to all.

LANGUAGE: In this practice, I refer to “we” and “us” as a form of community, and I refer to “you” as an acknowledgement of your presence. It is not meant to infer that you will be or should be doing any particular action with your body, so please disregard what doesn’t feel applicable to you.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: This video was made in Brooklyn, NY- land stolen from the Lenape people. Before you start, take a moment to acknowledge who came before you. https://native-land.ca/territory-acknowledgement/
